I was born into two cultures and a family of
writers and a lot of words.
Discovering sculpture after many years of
painting was to discover a language that was for
me both physical, immediate and challenging.
Growing up in England certainly influenced me,
the landscape and such great artists as Henry Moore
for instance, contrasting deeply with my nordic
heritage, influenced as it was by the dramatics and
soul searching of the Bergman family that I was born into.
The disparity of this double heritage has driven me to
find a synthesis in form between the primitive
and
the poetic.
